Combat Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Sensors and Electronics Engineer with experience in Electronic Warfare and Combat Management Systems to join our clients proactive and innovative team.

• To provide Design and Systems engineering support on a range of Electronic Combat Systems
• Assist or Lead a technical team in support of project objectives undertaking technical work activities within a system engineering context
• Engaging with Internal and External stakeholders, Technical Leads, Engineering Managers, Project Managers and Technical Authorities to ensure customer and business needs are satisfied appropriately and problems/issues are mitigated accordingly
• Assist with the technical management for the creation of Combat Systems technical specifications, and associated physical Integration design documentation
• Assist or act as a Technical Design Lead when communicating with other supplier representatives and internal teams to discuss technical issues and problems
• Assist with the Technical management in the Production of Combat System Schematics, Cable Schedules, Cable Terminations and Equipment Connection Details (ECDs) using information contained in the Suppliers Guidance documents
• Assist or Act as a Technical Design lead responsible to detail the requirements for and the production of 2D / Primitive 3D Installations for all Combat System Compartments

• Appropriate engineering qualification (HNC and above) with associated experience

• Broad understanding of the Maritime Electronic Warfare and Combat Systems domain;
• Experience with the design and development of Combat Systems and the associated support systems i.e. library data/formats, mission planning etc.;
• Understanding of the process of testing and integrating systems into Naval Combat Management Systems and Shared Infrastructure;
• Engineering/technical management, preferably in a position responsible for the delivery of equipment/system programmes for a MoD customer;
• Delivery of C5ISR systems across the SE life cycle, including an understanding of the CADMID life cycle and its alignment with systems/product life cycles;
• Able to understand the effect of system design and change on the cost of the development;
• Conversant with the MoD Knowledge in Defence (KiD) framework and associated design, build, test and acceptance processes;
• The use of commercial SE and modelling tools is desirable, e.g. Rhapsody, DOORS, UML;
• Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers/stakeholders;
• Capable of undertaking and documenting detailed development activities including proof of concept designs;
• Capable of obtaining security clearance of SC as a minimum. There may be a requirement to undertake Develop Vetting (DV)
