Senior Installation Engineer

Senior Engineer (Platform Installation)
Working with the Platform Installation team within In Service Combat Systems, supporting the planning and installation and testing of cutting edge equipment for nuclear submarines.

• Configuration Management of the baseline for all CS Equipment.
• Conduct surveys/audits to ensure all processes and equipment align with what is required
• Work with key stakeholders to provide design input and specialist advice for the services, and infrastructure design and specification.
• Provide support as the interface between the Platform Installation team and wider project delivery teams
• Ensure all work is performing in accordance to BAE Systems’ SHE policies.
• Integration of newly installed combat system hardware and software products
• Testing and verification of combat systems products built by external suppliers as well as the internal
• Common Infrastructure team
• Fault finding and troubleshooting of hardware defects on installed equipment.
• Configuration control of any changes to equipment build status and test documentation
• Leading, mentoring and supporting other members of the Installation team when required
• Deputising for Team Leaders when required
• Ensuring developed products adhere to test plans and the original customer requirements
• Providing support to engineering teams from suppliers to identify and resolve any issues
• Providing test information captured during testing and feeding back to the suppliers
• Requirements capture from key stakeholders
• Decomposition of requirements to development of Integrated and System level verification requirements tests
• Updating Test Documentation, processes and Tools as Complex Systems and Capability requirements evolve.
• Undertaking peer reviews or checking / verification tasks as directed

• Experience of system level and integration testing
• Experience of testing military products
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Willing to work away from office

• Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in an engineering discipline
• Experience of testing military products
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status
• Maritime industry experience
• Experience of DOORS for requirements capture
