Overview

Must Have: ABS A3K Framework, Familiarity with ABS is a must have (e.g. RC/RAP, CISL/Adapter, Airwave/Façade), Java

 

Product Engineers are responsible for the implementation of functional and technical
requirements in new or existing software products. This includes creating technical designs
following architectural principles and writing code which is in alignment with security,
performance, and scalability standards.
• Product Engineers are part of a cross-functional team within an agile release train and, as
such, collaborate closely with other product engineers, product owners, product designers,
test engineers, and scrum masters. They take ownership and active responsibility for the
product. They play an active role in agile planning and alignment activities (agile
ceremonies) and ensure feature delivery on time, creating the best business value

 

Responsibilities

• Create and implement efficient, performant and secure code supporting the business
needs
• Maintain, refactor, upgrade, and continuously optimize existing software systems
• Verify feasibility and dependencies and consult with architects whenever
necessary
• Constantly track software performance,
quality, and efficiency
• Write technical documentation and installation procedures
• Research, evaluate, and test new technologies (libraries, frameworks, tools, etc.)
• Improve technical expertise to create architectural solutions, in collaboration with product designers and architects

Qualifications

• Familiarity with ABS is a must have (e.g. RC/RAP, CISL/Adapter, Airwave/Façade)
• In addition, Claims domain knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with the internal BMP Product toolstack
Internal
• Education in computer science or software engineering or equivalent experience
• Open mindset, curiosity, and creativity
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English
• Team player
• Solid programming skills in one or more object-oriented programming languages
• Ability to incorporate software design patterns and best practices
• Understanding of data structures and database concepts like normalization and table
design along with SQL
• Knowledge of at least one IDE (for example, Eclipse, IntelliJ etc.)
• Willingness to share one's technical expertise with others in a team and the ability to
communicate complex procedures to others
• The faculty for learning new technologies quickly
• An analytical mind accompanied by commercial and business awareness
• Attention to detail and the desire to probe further into data and cod
