Belfast - Test Analyst

We are seeking talented Testing Consultants (QA Analysts) with a proven track record in solution delivery, the Test Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing tests in a custom development environment in line with agreed plans and strategies. As a member of a highly collaborative, dynamic test team, the Test Analyst will be asked to provide mentoring, guidance and direction to other team members, as well as ensuring the quality of the team’s output is of a consistently high standard.

• Works on multiple phases of a project and/or multiple projects. 
• Takes responsibility for a certain test area and conditions as well as results evaluation, problem resolution and planning. 
• Selects appropriate standards, methods, tools and applications for project use. 
• Reviews quality assurance plans, data, procedures, and scripts. 
• Creates test cases unsupervised and helps prepare for evaluations. Runs tests and retests as necessary, executing test scripts in area of accountability. 
• Investigates defined issues with uncertain cause and solicits input in gathering data that help identify and differentiate the symptoms and root causes of defined problems. 
• Identifies test issues, reports risks and defines regression tests for current and future projects.

• Creates traceability records, from test cases back to requirements, reporting on system quality and collecting metrics on test cases. 
• Works on quality assurance projects using available test frameworks and tools focusing on on-time and on-budget project goals. 
• Maintains the status of projects and provides guidance to the work of junior team members, works across teams to achieve group goals.

Essential: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience 
• ISTQB Foundation 

Desirable:

• Additional course or certification in Quality Assurance 

• Excellent client-facing skills
• People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions
• Team work and emotional intelligence
• Good self-management – continuous performance is both a goal and a mind-set
• Has an innovative approach – a bold thinker and doer, matching creativity with vigilance
• High value on openness and transparency

• 2+ years experience within a software quality assurance / testing role

• Experience in API Testing (SoapUI, Ready API, Postman etc.)

• Experience in test automation scripting (Selenium, Playwright, Python etc.)

• Technical skills - SQL, UNIX, Agile preferential
• Non-functional testing experience advantageous
