The role of Mechanical Design Engineer Transmission :

• Component Ownership & Technical Leadership:

  • Act as the Component Owner for housings within the electric propulsion system, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.

• Housing Design & Development:

  • Develop housing designs that meet both functional requirements and High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) technology constraints.
  • Ensure compatibility with thermal, mechanical, and durability specifications.

• System Integration & Interface Management:

  • Design components while ensuring seamless integration with all transmission sub-systems and vehicle-level interfaces.
  • Maintain alignment with cross-functional teams to avoid design conflicts and ensure optimal performance.

• CAD & Technical Documentation:

  • Oversee the creation and validation of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, including critical specifications such as porosity, cleanliness, and material properties.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.

• Project Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate, schedule, and track cross-functional engineering activities to ensure timely project execution.
  • Align efforts across design, purchasing, manufacturing, and process development teams for the component.

• Design Verification & Testing:

  • Lead analytical and physical verification activities, including simulations and prototype testing.
  • Analyze test results, identify design improvements, and prepare comprehensive project reports.

• Supplier & Requirement Management:

  • Define and maintain component requirements, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements and supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure component feasibility, manufacturability, and quality standards.

What are our key selection criteria for joining Expleo Mechanical Engineering Team?

• Familiarity with CREO AND WINDCHILL software
• Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in supporting manufacturing or design processes
• Possess exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
•  CAE and diecast/mold-flow simulation good knowledge
•  Experience or affinity with Automotive engineering and related processes
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and various engineering software
• Experience in automotive development scheme and related processes ie. FMEA, APQP, DCP, 6-Sigma, 8D
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Fluent in English, and either French or Dutch
