We are seeking a skilled Cobol Developer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg (Hybrid).   The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and enhancing Cobol, CICS, and DB2 programs, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, logical and analytical thinking, and effective client engagement skills.

• Develop new code (a small percentage of the workload).
• Maintain and enhance existing Cobol/CICS/DB2 programs.
• Provide support for user queries and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with small-scale enhancements to improve functionality.
• Participate in software development cycles, including coding, unit testing, promotions, business testing, and implementations.
• Provide after-hours support and standby services as required.
• Ensure compliance with all client's standards and processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of programming experience.
• Proven experience in software maintenance, development, and support

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Cobol, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
• Experience with Control-M scheduling (optional but advantageous).
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles.
• Knowledge of coding, unit testing, and implementation processes.
