We are seeking a Senior Product (UX) Designer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg (Hybrid). You will oversee the seamless integration of user experience into product and service designs, developing interfaces that effectively convey the brand and enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

Visual Design and Prototyping:

  • Develop compelling visual artifacts (UI layouts, interface elements, prototypes, high-level storyboards, mock-ups, wireframes, etc.) to effectively communicate UI and UX needs.
  • Create and maintain design elements, mock-ups, and specifications as required.
  • Conduct best practice research to develop and improve UI and interaction design to address end-user problems effectively.
  • Formulate testing parameters to assess user experience.

Research and Recommendations:

  • Research the latest trends in visual design, UI and interaction concepts, presentation layer technologies, digital best practices, and online trends.
  • Conduct competitor research to develop and improve product features, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.

Design Systems and Standards:

  • Act as a custodian for developing visual, UI, and interaction design assets within the design system.
  • Adhere to design standards by understanding and following the established Design System.
  • Incorporate consistent design patterns and principles.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with business goals and user needs.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, both verbally and visually, to gain stakeholder agreement.
  • Advocate for end-users throughout the development process, partnering with the Service Design Team to create exceptional user experiences.

Process and Feedback Integration:

  • Integrate user experience flows into mock-ups, usage scenarios, prototypes, specifications, navigation maps, and other design documents.
  • Utilize user feedback and testing results to refine designs and deliver optimal customer experiences.

Time and Resource Management:

  • Manage time effectively within each project to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Identify training courses and career progression opportunities through feedback and input from management.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Share knowledge and industry trends with the team and stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by recommending effective enhancements.
  • Participate in corporate responsibility initiatives and culture-building activities.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
  • Design Certification from an accredited Design School.

Experience

  • 10-12 years of experience in user experience and design-related roles.

Exposure to:

  • Accuracy in design realization.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis for design and implementation.
  • Communicating design guidelines to diverse stakeholders.
  • Design tools and modelling.
  • Innovating and redesigning processes for improvement.
  • Architecting, designing, and implementing a DevOps toolchain for an SME business.

Technical Knowledge:
