Electrical Design Engineer

The Electrical  Design Engineer is responsible for the engineering of all infrastructure projects relating to the development, extension and renovation of the 36 to 380 kV electricity transmission network.

Design Phase:

• Plan and manage study schedules, ensuring priorities and deliverables are met.
• Develop protection block diagrams and detailed principle diagrams for electrical systems.
• Contribute to the definition and selection of equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
• Ensure the quality of studies by using approved equipment and adhering to Elia norms, standards, and methodologies.
• Assess and adapt existing standards to fit project-specific requirements.
• Conduct quality control of detailed studies performed externally.
• Review and validate manufacturer documentation for compliance.
• Participate, when required, in factory acceptance tests (FATs) for electrical equipment.

Construction Phase:

• Support the Project Manager in overseeing low-voltage work on-site.
• Act as the point of contact for operators, suppliers, and electrical installation contractors.
• Identify and resolve design or implementation issues encountered on-site.
• Attend technical site meetings, on-site testing, and commissioning activities as needed.

Project Closure:

• Conduct a post-project review of low-voltage studies.
• Ensure all As-Built diagrams are updated and properly documented.

Degree/bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electricity, electronics or automation.
Knowledge of Windows office applications.
Very good knowledge of Dutch and good understanding of French.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.
You are keen to invest in learning a trade that will eventually require a high level of specific expertise.
You have good planning and organizational skills, and a sense of responsibility.
You are assertive.
Quality-oriented, you are also rigorous and precise in your work.
