Overview

Subsystem Engineer will support the following activities and deliverables:
• Review Requirements and Supplier selection
• Deliver Project Gate Review Packages
• All Customer CDRLs/Letters to be approved & closed
• All Supplier CDRLs/Letters to be approved & closed
• All Technical Issues (TI database & CCT) to be progressed out of engineering scope (FMI provided)

 

Job Location will be in St-Bruno for interface with different designer groups, but some support may be required at our
plant, at customer site or at supplier site, in USA.

Responsibilities

Requirements, Scope and subsystem supplier selection:

- Review Specification and standards and integrate requirement to database;

- Act as engineering contact with suppliers, collaborate with procurement and subsystem function to review suppliers offers and deliverables;

 

Project Gate Closure/Documentation:

- Create and/or update technical requirement documentation, system descriptions, interface documents and test procedures/reports;
- Act as engineering contact with suppliers and customer, collaborate with procurement and other Services (Project, Methods, Quality …);
- Review and approve Supplier documentation. Ensure that supplier deliverables meet requirements and schedule;
- Ensure technical compliance with both the customer specification and the regulatory authorities;
- Close Customer Letters and CDRLs;

 

Technical Issues (TI):

- Open, lead/support and resolve any design, field or production related issues;
- Close Technical Issues;

Qualifications

- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent

- Experience in railroad integration of systems;

- Expertise in the design and integration of its subsystems;

- Expertise in system failures analysis, troubleshooting and solution integration;

- Knowledge of TI Change request database (CTT tool);

- Understanding of mechanical drawings and mechanical components modification

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems (oil and air) and control with valves

- Understanding of hydraulic control loop

- Brake system analysis (friction, thermal response)
